Here, I’ll Hold it for ya

Oil on Gessoed Hardboard
6″ x 6″ (15.3cm x 15.3cm)
UPDATE 11/19/2007: This painting has being donated to the Denver Department of Human Services for their silent auction.
I took this picture between rain drop and rain drop literally. It was time for us to head back home after two days of raining in Chicago, when I told my husband to please stop for me to take some pictures at the bean. So he did, he stopped in the middle of the road, I got down and started running with my Canon EOS hanging from my neck (very painful in my stage) until I reached the Cloud Gate, that’s its real name by the way. People were starting to get their umbrellas out and I started shooting with my camera. I thought this lady with her arms up and the little girl under with both her hands on her hears was kind of unusual and would do a great painting. It looked like if the lady with the green jacket hanging from her bag was holding the sculpture. So today it was time to immortalize that moment, and I thought it was funny so I decided to call this one “Here, I’ll hold it for ya”.
