On our second day in Chicago, we had to be early at the Venezuelan Consulate which is located at 20 N Wacker Dr. After we showed up at the consulate, we were asked to come back in an our and a half. That was my chance! with the camera in my hand we went for a long walk and picture shooting. As we crossed the river, right behind the building were the consulate is, there it was this guy with an orange jacket from the Chicago Water Taxi, which appeared to be on a break smoking a cigarette…. or was the cigarette smoking him?… I was attracted to the way the soft light was hitting him, no dark shadows, as it was early in the morning and the shadows from the buildings around softened the ambience. He was standing between two stone columns and with the entrance to the water taxi, I thought the whole scene couldn’t have being more natural and casual.
