Peach Pies for $10 – Revisited
Oil on 3/4″ deep Hardboard
8″ high x 8″ wide
SOLD
This is the second painting I’m doing of this same scene. A kid on a bench during the Peach Festival not too far away from where I live in Michigan in a town called Romeo (the same town from where Kid Rock is from) a very hot afternoon helping mom sell peach pies for $10 along with many other home made goodies during the Peach Festival. Next to him there was the white tent where the rest of the pies where being offered for sale by mom and dad. The kid had some on the bench with him in the white box just for the cars that would stop to buy a pie without having to actually leave the car, how clever! The entire scene was really interesting, a moment captured in a snap literally speaking, but what I really like about this painting is the game of light and really dark areas and how the street reflects on the window just behind the kid. A very interesting piece to revisit. To bid just click on the link above.

This is a fun little work. How cute is he? I love your lighting and balance of the scene.
I’ve been away from visiting your blog with the silly PLR stories. I will catch up.
My thoughts still go to Ruffo. I do know what you’re going through. I lost my ‘Moesy’ June 16th of last year. There’s just no words that help. It takes a while, Manuela, but your smile will come back. I promise.
Big hugs my friend.

Thank you Vikki… I just need time… it is hard to see a child go, and Ruffo was my child, especially when faced with the responsibility of having to put them down to ease their suffering… now the pain is alive now, but I know tomorrow I’ll remember the thousands of wonderful moments we lived together and the countless times he made us all laugh with his adorable face and silly things. .. I’m sorry for your loss, it is never easy for those of us who love animals so much to the point of making them part of our family…. sorry I haven’t stopped by your blog, I will stop by, I promise, just don’t have the energy for anything right now.
Thank you for stopping by…
