It’s been a long time since I painted an abstract… the main reason I just can’t as I used to. Ever since the car accident my neck, right shoulder and right arm are so screwed up that it’s painful to create an abstract painting. In order for me to paint such large painting I need my entire body to work and be pain free. My arms move like I’m a crazy woman since the amount of energy released for each one from beginning to end (about 20-40 minutes) is incredible. Abstract art for me is not only about creating a nice looking painting, it means an internal battle of emotions.
This painting I didn’t make it alone, I had a great helper for it, my 5 year old son Gabriel. He helped mommy scrapping paint, adding, brushing off with the rag, spraying and doing many things I just wouldn’t have been able to do without him, so half of the profit from the sale of this painting will go towards him, which will be put in his bank account.

Hi Manuela,
Your abstract paintings look as amazing as ever to me. I enjoy your work very much. I can see the struggle, and appreciate you speaking to the physicality in creating your art. It reminds me of how important it is to care for my body in order to be able to express myself in a similar way for as long as possible.

Hi Michael!
Thank you! I appreciate your comments about my work.
You are right, we sure need the whole range of motion to been able to create for as long as possible. Without movement abstract art, which by definition is emotional and requires a lot of body expression to be properly, accomplished is impossible.
Thank you for stopping by!

Hi Manuala,
WOW! B I G!!!! Very beautiful and ‘drippy’. Nice work. I also identify with the emotional investment in the work. ‘How my present work is going is clearly tied to my mood.’
I have a ‘drippy’ concept of my own that I’m working on.
These are really nice pieces.

Hi Vikki!
Hehehe! yes HUGE!!! this one is from a very old series I haven’t worked in years!! so it was a nice back to the beginnings if you will.
Definitely when the artist works honestly on his/her paintings, putting the emotion and the soul on them, it shows and reflects to the viewer… I can’t wait to see your ‘drippy’ paintings!
