Boooh!! Hehe!!! Happy Halloween!!

Oil on 1/8″ deep Hardboard / Óleo sobre tabla
7″ high x 5″ wide / 17.8 x 12.7 cm

I haven’t been able to decorate the house for Halloween, we got so behind on everything and the mobility of my right arm seems worse now that is getting so cold! but still I wanted to get into the spirit for tomorrow to get everything up with my kids with a little painting. I struggled with this one so much! had to wipe everything off twice! for some reason the whole thing was not coming the way I wanted it.
The picture that inspired this one was from last year. One of the pumpkins me and my kids carved which was sitting in the entrance of our home. We went overboard with the little tea candles though! we actually put 4 inside hehe!
Happy Halloween everyone!!

I really like the way this looks. I’m glad you put four candles in it, because it definitely has a glow.

Really fun, Manuela. I love the contrast-It looks like it’s actually lit.
I used to love to carve pumpkins when my kids were small also. Each one had to be a masterful design, you know? The weirder the pumpkin shape the more outstanding the results.
Sorry about your shouldier/arm still giving you fits. That’s not good for an artist girl.

Hi Vikki!
Thank you!
I saw the cutest pumpkins last night while trick-or-treating with my little one, ’cause my oldest son is too old for that he says hehe!… we even saw a quite clever one! a smiley face made of a semi colon and a parenthesis, I thought it was so adorable!! these kids are so into texting these days that even reflects on the pumpkins, hehe!
Oh! I know! pain is never good for an artist! it kills the creativity so fast! I’ve been in serious pain for a year an a half almost after a stupid car accident, and although I try to “pretend” I’m ok and I can handle the pain, there are days I just give up, plus the cold here is already hitting hard and that is killing me!
You take care, I know you haven’t been feeling well.

Love the use of color and loose strokes.
