Finally! my first painting for the year!

It’s being quite a journey this new year so far! I’ve survived a criminal attack towards my website, my dad’s heart attack (I almost had one myself with all the stress!), my mom’s degenerating Alzheimer’s condition, my own pains due to the car accident back in June 2007 (how annoying to suffer still from pain!) and a myriad of crazy things happening.

But despite the pain, stress, lack of sleep and everything else I just needed to enter the studio and finish the painting I started a couple of weeks ago, which on top fell on the floor, you guessed it, paint down (I don’t need to throw some salt over my shoulder for luck, I need to bathe with salt! hehe!)

The scene in the painting is the last picture I captured during the International Auto Show here in Detroit at the beginning of the year, which I attended with my little Gabriel and my hubby. A Hindu woman in a gorgeous deep red Sari. Her golden purse matching the golden accents of her dress. The silk had blue/purple shadows, a fabulous fabric with an array of color quite challenging to capture in painting.
