Pink Hat

Oil on 3/4″ deep Hardboard
8″ high x 8″ wide

I’m really proud of this painting. The colors, the brush work, the overall feeling of it. I found this girl at the Laida beach (where the ocean literally walks, and walks fast!) in the north of Spain while spending the day with my family of 3 kids and hubby. The pink hat of the girl was just popping out in the warm colors of the landscape, I guess that’s what called my attention the most! I kept looking at the girl trying to see what she was up to, since she looked so adorable with her green bikini and pink hat, she seemed to be puzzled by how fast the water was destroying her sand sculpture and at one point she seemed to be really upset by it.
The painting was exhibited at the Aldo Castillo Gallery in Chicago, IL and came back this Saturday to the studio. For purchase information or to bid on it, please visit the links above.

Thank you Vikki!
I really love the way this painting came out. I saw the girl in one of the beaches in the north of Spain about 3 years ago and took a series of pictures of her. I thought she looked so adorable! You can tell the girl is from somewhere in Europe, hence the lack of the top of the bathing suit.

Gorgeous painting and little girl. Don’t you wish we could still run around like that on any beach? (lol) Good luck with your auction.
