PROVENCE & REST OF FRANCE LANDSCAPE OIL PAINTINGS

While living in Spain from 2004 to 2006, we had the opportunity to travel as far as Slovenia by car. You would say why not by plain? the main reason is we would have missed all the beauties, small villages, fields and vineyards that you see in my paintings. Twice we visited France... the first time we drove the entire South of France, and the second time we drove from Bilbao, Spain to Paris, France in a 2 days trip going up and 2 days trip coming back. As an artist passionate about landscapes this was the best road trip I've ever done. Painting Provence without smelling the soil, the prairies and the lavender fields is the wrong way to paint it. You need to feel this spectacular country before you are able to give justice to its beauty through a painting.
