Lost Outside Richelieu, France - Work in Progress Oil on Board
Lost Outside Richelieu, France - Work in Progress Oil on Board

Last night I had done quite a lot, the face of the man and head of the woman took a little while but is finally done. Now I’m working on the car which is the part I remember taking me forever on the first painting I did (click here to view). My technique of oil painting is not quite “the best” when it comes to pain smooth surfaces like a car, the reason being I love thick noticeable brushwork, is part of my signature stile but on this painting I’m taking my time on the car, and quite bending my arm. Hopefully I’ll have the car finished this afternoon, my snoring dog permitting of course (he’s being snoring all morning, and you won’t believe how loud a Newfoundland dog snores until you have one!).

In case you missed it in my previous post, this painting will be available at my upcoming exhibit at the Peters Street Gallery in Atlanta GA, February 12-March 13, 2010. The opening reception is February 12, 6-9pm. If you would like to preview this exhibit please click here.

Off to keep painting!
