Link Policy & Copyright

I’ve received a couple of inquires from other artists, viewers and other bloggers to exchange links or to link to my blog, so I thought it would be a good idea for me to post my policy. I’ll update it as time goes by and more things arise.

Linking to my blog:
I don’t mind anyone linking to my blog or to any of my posts, please feel free to do so! but I do mind if you take any of my images to post it on your blog or your website, as this is a violation of my copyright and the copyright of any artist/photographer.

If you would like to use any of my images for your blog or website, a royalty fee of $15 per image granting you a very, and I stress a VERY, limited license to use the image on your website or blog is required. The image will be provided by me only as per your request and will be no bigger than 400pixels in the longest side. The image will contain a copyright notice that should not be removed.Violating my policy will incur in me reporting you for copyright violation with your internet service provider and hosting company and you will hear from my lawyer. And no, I’m not kidding, I take federal copyright law VERY seriously and expect anyone to respect my copyright in the same manner.

To request and pay the royalty fee for the use of any of my images for decorative purposes on your website please visit www.manuelavalenti.com/wordpress/royalty.

If you would like to use my images in an art related article about me or my studio, please contact me as the royalty fee might be waived.

To link to my blog just drop me an email, I’ll be glad to check your blog and if related to my blog (daily painting) I would gladly reciprocate links with you.

As for linking back to your website, I only link back to the ones related to the daily painting movement, so I’m sorry if I might not post your link on my blog, is nothing personal, I just want to keep the consistency of my blog, thank you, but you are free to link to reciprocate links with my website. Copying or Right Clicking my Images:
I have absolute copyright on my images. Copying them, downloading them into your computer and uploading them into your server to post them on your website even with a link back to my websites or blogs without my written permission is illegal. Printing them to create a collage or create a new work without requesting my written permission is absolutely prohibited and prosecuted by the federal copyright law in the US and by international laws. No, my work doesn’t qualify as “fair use” and no, you can’t use it in any way to create yours. If you would like to use any of my images to decorate your website or to use on your post a royalty fee of $15 is required. So please contact me if you would like to show any of my works to class mates or anyone else or pay the royalty fee for the legal use of any of my images in your web pages. I retain absolute rights over my works, images on websites, even after you have purchased one of my originals. If you don’t know what the copyright law establishes, please visit the copyright.gov website or consult a copyright lawyer. Not every lawyer knows about copyright, so make sure you talk to a true copyright lawyer or consult the copyright office.
