Nothing is more boring than having to renew a passport. While at one of those long and daunting appointments, I took a glance outside the window. People crossing the road in downtown Detroit, from up above the floor I was standing, looked seemingly peaceful. Just a pop of color in a sea of grays and dirt whites.
