We lived in Spain for 2 years. While there we took every opportunity we got to travel around, to visit family in Italy and Spain, or just get together with friends and family on vacation somewhere in Europe.

In one of those road trips through France, on one of those back roads tourists don't ever travel, we went through this little quintessential French village outside Richelieu stopping at a parking lot for pictures and a well deserved break for us and the kids.

While still in the parking lot of this beautiful palace we noticed a Bugatti road rally scavenger hunt was taken place. Old cars were going in an out, back and forth trying to find clues. This couple in this beautiful blue 1920's Bugatti Type 35 seemed to have gotten lost and entered the parking lot where we stood. Camera in hand I snapped as many pictures as I could, so I could paint them back in my studio.

This is the first study of that candid moment, of a couple driving their Bugatti T-35, getting lost during a scavenger hunt rally in a small town in France.
